The Northalsted Halloween Costume Parade scared up its 13th year, featuring a "Mad Hatter's Ball" theme.

Miss Foozie ( as the Queen of Hearts ) emceed the parade's finish at the 7-11 parking lot ( Roscoe and Halsted ) . This year included a new start time ( 6 p.m. ) and a longer route ( from Belmont to Addison ) . The event raised money for the community garden park. Some popular costumes were Where The Wild Things Are characters, Jon & Kate and Lady Gaga. Text by Jerry Nunn; photos by Nunn and Mel Ferrand
