A Chicago mayoral forum, hosted by the leading Black and Brown LGBTQ+ organizations, will provide candidates an opportunity to meet with LGBTQ+ communities to share their vision of how they will ensure equity and improve the lives of Black and Brown LGBTQ+ Chicagoans.
Both candidates, Commissioner Brandon Johnson and Paul Vallas have been invited.
The forum will take places Wednesday, March 22 at 6 p.m. at Adler University, 17 N. Dearborn.
Access to affordable housing, affirming and culturally appropriate health care, economic inequality, and safety are among the top issues for LGBTQ+ communities. The next mayor of Chicago has an opportunity to be a national leader in advancing protections and inclusion for LGBTQ+ residents.

About Equality Illinois
At Equality Illinois we envision a fair and unified Illinois where everyone is treated equally with dignity and respect and where all people live freely regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or expression. We work hard to promote legislation to protect the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) individuals; maintain the visibility of LGBTQ issues; oppose legislation which seeks to limit the civil rights of the LGBTQ community; and expand statewide grassroots support.
