City of Chicago Salute to LGBTQ Veterans Daley Center Plaza June 13

The annual City of Chicago Salute to LGBTQ Veterans will be held at noon on Wed., June 13, at Daley Center Plaza, 50 W Washington St.

Vanessa Sheridan—an Air Force veteran, current Center on Halsted director of trans relations and community engagement, and author of The Complete Guide to Transgender in the Workplace—will speak.

Sheridan was in the Air Force for four years, serving in the intelligence field, with assignments in Turkey and Taiwan.

A mayoral proclamation will be read by Mona Noriega, Commissioner, City of Chicago Commission on Human Relations and a wreath will be laid at the The Eternal Flame. Echo TAPS will be played by Susan Jones, Lakeside Pride Marching Band and Melissa Terrell, Lakeside Pride Marching Band.
