CHICAGO— Chicago-based actress & filmmaker Fawzia Mirza & filmmaker, Ryan Logan, teamed up to make the short film, THE QUEEN OF MY DREAMS which will have its Chicago Premiere at The 48th Chicago International Film Festival.

THE QUEEN OF MY DREAMS is a 3 minute docu-narrative-experimental short about Bollywood, Drag & Identity, and tells the story of a young girl (Fawzia Mirza), as she explores issues surrounding Bollywood Heroines, being Queer, her mother and femininity.

Mirza starred in the indie lesbian romantic comedy, Jamie and Jessie are Not Together, The Throwaways a web series about LGBTQ runaways and is in the upcoming-not-yet-released Chicago-produced films Hatboxes, Silhouettes and Scrooge & Marley and can be seen on stage at The Goodman in 2013 in Teddy Ferrara; she also produced the award-winning documentary Fish out of Water. Ryan Logan is the award-winning director of The Single Mother, The Widow and Kam Kardashian and the upcoming films, The Choice and Summertime. This is one of several projects they have collaborated on.

"Screening this little film at CIFF is a dream come true," says Mirza. The film had its world premiere at Fusion: The Los Angeles LGBT People of Color Film Festival in March of this year and has since screened at The Seattle International Film Festival, Outfest, Frameline, Palm Springs Shortfest, DC Shorts and many more.

The Chicago International Film Festival is the oldest competitive film festival in North America. The festival takes place October 11- 25, 2012. The Queen of My Dreams screens multiple times throughout the festival, but will have its first screening on October 16th in competition as part of Shorts 1: "City & State" program.
